Interested In A Year or Part Year Sabbatical In Beautiful British Columbia, Canada?
The Nelson Waldorf School would like to extend an invitation for families from around the world to enrol for a year or part year.
Many parents from places such as Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Tanzania, to name a few, have taken a temporary leave of absence from their jobs and busy lives and have come to Nelson to allow their children to learn English and experience another culture within the nurturing environment of an accredited Waldorf School. These parents not only provided their child with an enriching educational opportunity but have also been able to take part in all the outdoor and cultural splendours offered in this pristine mountain village.
The Nelson Waldorf school is nestled in a 35 acre forest in a valley in southeast British Columbia, just outside of the small, vibrant city of Nelson. One of only a few rural Waldorf schools in North America, the Nelson Waldorf School enjoys phenomenal support from the people of Nelson and has also attracted families from all over the world to visit and stay.
The city of Nelson is picturesque, perched on a mountainside overlooking Kootenay Lake, and full of beautiful older homes and turn of the century stone buildings. Nelson enjoys four seasons of outdoor recreation opportunity, and demonstrates a very real sense of community. The area offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational and wilderness opportunities, as well as a comprehensive recreational facility in the city itself. Nelson is considered an excellent place to raise a family.
