USA (New Amsterdam Early Childhood Center, New York City) 07/06/2010

Early Childhood Teacher working with children ages 3-5 to join our young and rapidly growing Waldorf initiative.

We are a young and rapidly growing Waldorf initiative. We are looking for dynamic teachers who are excited about introducing Waldorf education to young families in Lower Manhattan. It may come as a surprise that until recently, New York City has had only one Waldorf School - the Rudolf Steiner School on the Upper East Side. We have a collegial relationship with The Steiner School as well as the new Brooklyn Waldorf School across the East River. With its tremendous emphasis on education, New York City desperately needs another Waldorf school to serve this dramatically growing community of young families and children.

We hire teachers with Waldorf training or similar experience who demonstrate a passion for teaching out of anthroposophy, a deep love for children and who aspire to working in a highly cooperative atmosphere. We are currently a developing member of WECAN. In our young and vibrant environment, teachers with professional resumes can have a tremendous impact on both the children and the success of our early childhood center. Our faculty and parent community share warm collegiality and are building a healthy understanding of cooperative leadership. We offer a competitive salary and benefits.

If you would like to join our talented faculty and be a part of our exciting initiative, please send or email a resume and cover letter, brief biographical sketch and three references to:
